Africa on your own terms — with a guide who knows it

This is not a package tour with a bus and a schedule. It's a guided convoy — your vehicle, your pace, but with AfricaEcoAdventure leading the route, arranging the permits and making sure you see the best of what Kruger has to offer. We pre-survey our groups to tailor the camps and stops around what you actually want out of the trip.

Vehicles are arranged through Britz 4x4 Hire — properly equipped, full kitchen, bedding and fridge included. You choose the setup that suits your group. We handle the rest.

12 days. One great road.

From Johannesburg airport to the heart of Kruger and back — every stop chosen for what it adds to the experience.

Night 1
Johannesburg
Fly in, collect vehicles, overnight at the Southern Sun. Group briefing and route overview.
Night 2
Sondela
Drive to Bela-Bela. Overnight at Sondela Nature Reserve — 4x4 experience track, pool, restaurant. Acclimatise and get comfortable with the vehicle.
Nights 3–11
Kruger
Nine nights deep inside Kruger. Mix of fenced camps with restaurants and remote wild camps. Route tailored to your group — Big 5, rivers, birding, night drives.
Day 12
Johannesburg
Return drive, vehicle hand-back, debrief. Fly home with a full memory card and stories that last a lifetime.

— Not included

  • Flights to and from Johannesburg
  • Food and drinks — plenty of camp restaurants, or self-cater from your fridge

What 12 days in Kruger actually looks like

Riverside dining deck at a Kruger National Park rest camp
  • 🌅
Dawn game drivesFirst light is when the big predators are still moving. We'll be out before the gates open to the day visitors.
  • 🦒
Big 5 territoryLion, leopard, elephant, rhino, buffalo — Kruger has one of the highest concentrations of Big 5 in Africa. We know the routes and the waterholes.
  • 🍽️
Camp restaurants and river decksMany of Kruger's rest camps have excellent restaurants, some right on the riverbank. We build these into the route.
  • 🔥
Wild camp nightsOne or two stops will be remote, fenceless camps with no shop and no restaurant. Cook over a gas burner, sleep under the stars, and listen to the bush at night.
  • 🗺️
Tailored to your groupBefore departure we survey every group — wildlife priorities, fitness level, food preferences. Your itinerary is shaped around your answers, not a template.
  • 📸
Time to actually see thingsWe're not ticking off checkpoints. If there's a leopard in a tree at midday, we stay until it moves. That's the difference between a guided convoy and a self-drive rush.
